Primary Capital Programme
The Primary Capital Programme will encourage and support local authorities to take a long-term strategic approach to capital investment and to transform teaching and learning in primary schools, with the Children's Plan at its heart. The programme is supported by £1.9 billion of capital investement in the period 2008-11. Going forward it is expected that baselines will remain at £500 million a year. Subject to future public-spending decisions this equates to additional investment of some £7 billion. In order to get the most from the programme, local authorities are expected to join the primary capital funding with other capital funding streams. Our Consultants have supported schools, local authorities and sponsors on more than 20 Academies and 5 Building Schools for the Future programmes to date.

We have also advised civil engineers, architects and technology/service providers on a further 3 BSF programmes and many other school capital build projects in the UK and abroad. In the primary sector, we have been working with the States of Guernsey Education department since 2000, designing and implementing new and refurbished Primary Schools and advising on the use of educational technologies.
